My blackjack 2 says i have 3 messages in the inbox even though my inbox is empty. How do i fix that?

My old phone used to do that. I never found a way to fix it but emptying my inbox and/or restarting my phone. if neither work then i dont know what to tell you, i guess you could go into your carrier store and talk to them or call customer service.
