ANDHRA PRADESH FOLKS:did they forget?

From my understanding, Rayalseema and Andhra will manage fine, Telangana has no natural resources of it's own and they are depending on keeping Hyderabad, which I don't think will happen. I think they will keep Hyderabad as a Union Territory. If they don't get Hyd then they are the ones who will suffer. I think what that KCR guy did was blackmail, not eating until he gets his way, RIDICULOUS! So if I want anything from the government all I have to do is "fast till death" and send my friends and family out and act like gundas? What a great state Telangana will be with leaders like this. I agree that the more we divide the weaker we get, but who's asking us, we aren't the ones fasting till death, lol!

@Prince Zuko- this was told to me my many people that Telangana does not have much of it's own natural resources. I have never researched this info myself, sorry if I am mistaken. But I still disagree with you, at this point in India's history I don't think these divisions are good for India. It's a shame that after so many years we all still have to divide based on language/culture. This is a big problem in India, people don't see themselves as one unified nation. And I highly doubt Hyderabad will be given to Telangana as the capitol, I think and hope that it will become a UT.

@Prince Zuko (again)...I am not against recognizing diversity, but I am against division on the BASIS of diversity. If the Telangana people feel they are not treated fairly then they should raise this as their issue, not by asking for a separate state. And we are not being dumb, we are voicing our opinions about the situation from our point of view. And just a side note, I didn't give you a thumbs down, you have just as much of a right to voice your opinion as I do, as long as we remain respectful. One more thing, are you proud of the behavior being displayed around the state? Blackmailing the government by fasting till death, instilling fear all over the city, vandalizing public and private property, closing schools???

Lets get real here. This is not about the people wanting separation, this is about the UPA government wanting to have more control over the MPs from the state. Having a strong contingent of 40 and having a leader like YSR has made them a force to reckon with. And Ms. Gandhi definitely doesn't like being forced to make decisions. So after YSR's demise, this is a planned strategy to split the ranks of the MPs from the state and take away power from them. That is the reason a party man like Rosiah was picked as Chief Minister over youngster and popular choice like Y.S.Jagan. So don't even for a second be fooled into thinking that KCR is the reason for the Telengana decision. He is just a pawn, the real reason is the power the MPs of this state are wielding at the center which is making 'madam' especially unhappy.

If Telengana is separated despite all the opposition, then we will see a revolt from the people of the other regions. It is only the politicians and so called intellectuals who are talking about separate Greater Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra, not the students and common people who are only asking for unified Andhra. There is most certainly going to be a revolt here from the people of other regions in Hyderabad. Even before the separation of Telengana, the people here staying in their capital city are being termed 'settlers' and being threatened. How do you think the situation would be when there is a separate state and Hyderabad is a part of Telengana? The congress had clearly not reckoned on having to face the ire of common people, they must have thought the party MLA's and MP's can be very easily managed. Well this is a lesson for Ms.Gandhi, in democracy. Next time, she ought to listen to all parties involved before taking a decision, because this is not a fascist sate and she certainly can't make decisions based only on her whims and fancies and the political ambitions of a few vested interests and individuals.

Its utter foolishness that a person fasts for more than 10 days for separation!. Its insane, weird and ridiculous that a person is craving for separation rather than unity!

Now that our Government has accepted his 'stubborn' request, all the other states are getting ready for protests to get separated from their own state. This is really insane.

I fear... If this situation continues, there will be loads of small small states in India, with lot of boundaries in the Indian map.

I don't want government to accept his request of separating AP cuz, parties from other states refer this incident as an example and try to fulfill their dreams of separating.

Entire India will keep dividing like this!....It was better during British India with just a few Provinces!...people are just interested in smaller causes like this...patriotism is no more in India, for India.Our great great grand children will have 1000's of states in India.

i think this all is crap...why the hell do u want to divide???i think these telangana ppl shud be given a piece of mind..now everyone wants another state...wer r we going..is it all we've learnt...our strength lies in unity not in being dividing..our strength lies in staying together and making a difference not creating differences among ourselves!!!politicians shud be driven out this place first.!!!!

Now cute girl, what are the things we are gonna lose? This Kosta's (Coastal Andhra) robbed alot from us, telangana region has been neglected for decades. Telangana was royal land before the, nawab's (Nizam) robbed and invested everything in andhra!! Why do you think nawab's (Nizam) wanted Hyderabad as capital`? It was because of our wealth!! Separate Telangana concept is not created by any politician, it is created by intellectual people who are fighting for it for long time, it is a burning issue from 1969, but now a days politicians are using it!! Some people claim that Telangana Telugu isn’t the proper Telugu, some others say it isn’t even Telugu! Why should these people that make fun of Telangana language and ridicule its culture should be objecting if Telangana is separate state?

The promises of Telangana development have been made for the past 48 years in united AP!! Before and after the formation of AP, from the first day of AP formation, till to-day, agreements are being broken. What were the united AP wishers do? Did they even express any concerns? How long should the Telangana people bear this and put up with this injustice? There isn't anything wrong in separate state!!

Then every city and village in AP should be seen alike, why are some villages in Telangana and Rayalaseema are undeveloped but in kosta developed? If you think hunger strike is "Blackmailing the government", then what Gandhi did was also blackmail! Hunger strike isn't a new thing, it was there since decades! Didn't you read what i wrote, it was Telangana people, who wanted to be separate from 1969, but they never got! Telangana has may scources, coal, iron, water (rivers like Krishna and Godavari). The dams are in Telangana, but the canals are carrying the water to Kosta (costal Andhra). If we get the state separated, there would be new canals bringing water to the arid regions of Telangana bringing in prosperity to the farmers and local population.

In 1956, Telangana was merged with Andhra though there was a demand for a separate state of Telangana. In 1956, there were protests in Hyderabad for Telangana which was quelled by police killing some of the protestors. Thousands of farmers had died in 2 yrs bcuz, there wasn't any water and power for their farms! Why didn't andhra and rayalaseema helped us? Its better to be get separated than, conjoint to suffer!

@Cutegal- If you think andhra his Heaven, come out from those 4 walls around you! Look at telangana and the farmers! How they are suffering, even i don't like KCR, not only him i don't like any politicians from India!! Maybe there are bigger 'n greater problems, but for us the biggest problem is power!! Andhra and Rayalaseema has only few minutes power cut, but in towns and villages of telangana, more than 6 hrs there won't be any power! Sometimes even after 6hrs, the power will not come, the avg, power we have is only 4-5hrs!

Most of the jobs, in government and education institutes, are filled up by people from Andhra. Fight for Telangana is not new. It has been there since the inception of Andhra Pradesh. TRS is just a political party that came into cash in on the prevailing mood of Telangana people to have a separate state. TRS is not Telangana.

Why people don't protest against this separation?
