Just to clarify the question: The Origins of war in general? or a particular war?
Because unfortunately the former question tends to encourage deep intellectual thinkers and there is no set answer... You might like to try Marx, although not solely on the origins of war, his general thinking can be applied there. And it is a bit thick to get through...
The latter question would be easier to answer...?
