Hi R&P, How have you been? (#56)?

Hi Everybody.

Sorry it's been a couple days. I've been sick (bronchitis) and at a funeral and thus out of the office. I hope everyone has been doing really great. I'm still not great, but I'm doing better.

Here's another installment of my Top 101 (mix tape rules) Countdown. Mix tape rules simply means that I only allowed myself one song per artist/band.

For number 56 I went with the first song to grab my attention by a very interesting band. It's an example of a simple detail really setting a song apart in my book. Just the sound, the drag of that rhythm guitar and how it creates this feel and is built upon perfectly. Great song. I hope you like it too.

Modest Mouse can be a little hit and miss with me, but they hit more than they miss and when they do it's usually a solid hit. Definitely worth a look. The Moon and Antarctica is a great record. If you're intersted in something to give a listen to.

Float On is a good tune. I like that one. I haven't seen that video before. I'm having trouble getting it to buffer and not keep pausing on me, but I'm going to give it a watch. Thanks for that.

    This is my first time answering your Top 101 (mix tape rules) Countdown. I'm a 101 virgin. Haha so I'm going to take it nice and slow.

    First sorry to hear you were sick hope you're completely better soon. As for the funeral you went to sorry for your lose.

    As for the song. I found it okay. The instruments stuck out to me more than the singing itself. I'm not a huge Modest Mouse fan. I actually only like Float On. I do however find their King Rat video very interesting.

    Happy Thursday, Prof! If nothing else, the weekend will be here soon...hopefully you can rest and relax a bit then.

    I'm not very familiar with Modest Mouse. I've heard the singles and Roses sent me a few links of theirs a while back. What I have heard, I dig.

    Modest Mouse is a great band. I listen to all types of metal and every once in a while it's nice to calm down with modest mouse. my favorite song by them has got to be Ohio

    Cool , I kinda like Modest Mouse though I have not heard a lot of songs from them . My fave song would have to be Float On

    I haven't been doing much , nor did I go to school because I had a bad cold , actually I still have it :( Thanks for asking . How have you been doing ? (as in today)

    A nice mellow group for nice mellow days....

    I've got "Good news for people who love bad news" album ~ and it's quite enjoyable.

    Float on was the first song I connected with of theirs, and I got to see them live a couple years ago as the warmup band for REM. They were pretty good :-)

    nice pick

    mine- space travel is boring

    last couple days- i took off yesterday because i didnt want to dig my car out of a snow drift and now i have two days worth of work to do and dont want to start and really ought to force myself to close yahoo answers but i lack the will power.

    a favorite band of mine -- the song perfectly captures the dreamy pop song with a manic undercurrent that defines much of their music.
