Global Warming... or Man-Made Global Warming?

Lately I've seen a lot of questions and comments about the subject. Some use the term Global Warming/Change and some use the term Man-Made Global Warming.

Personally, I'm not sure if the data shows that the Earth is warming or not. I also am not convinced that man could have enough influence to disturb the Earth's weather patterns.

To those that use the term "Man-Made Global Warming" -- are you implying that the Earth IS warming, but not by man's influence?

Also, how come we're not talking about the Ozone Layer anymore?

The scientific consenus of the world has concluded with 90% certainty global warming is man made:

As for the ozone layer, after the world banned CFCs, it has begun making a recovery.

Kirk: No it's not. Greenland was given that name to get people to move there. It was still a frozen craphole. Wine grapes are still grown in the UK today, and they are grown in Canada too.

bwlobo: The solution to that is exactly the same as the solution to global warming: we need to stop burning dirty fossil fuels in our cars, factories and power plants.

First, the ozone layer is not a big issue anymore, CFC's are the only chemical that damages it, CO2 and all the other greenhouse gasses don't effect it, and since CFC's are now banned in aerosols and emissions of them are carefully controlled, the emissions of CFCs are now longer a big issue.

Anyway there is a hell of a lot of evidence that mankind is a contributor to the rise in CO2 from the increased burning of hydrocarbons, there is also a link between CO2 emissions and global temperature, ( as one goes up the other does)

Now this could be coincidence that the planet has only started warming significantly since the industrial revolution and these trends seen are nothing more than coincidence, but judging from the history of the earth I would say this is not likely.

Yes it has become a religion and Al Gore is the pope of the cult.Think of how much money certain groups will make off of the hype.Think of all that government money going to "research".Besides there is only so much you can do ,after all whoever controls the weather controls the world.Fear is the best political motivator. Climate change is part of the nature of the planet.Common sense is to have clean energy but until there is a buck in it all that happens is talk, talk and more talk.Government regulations, fines and penalties(gotta get that bailout money somewhere) We certainly need clean air and water .I am the original recycler and I don't waste energy just like many other people.I use energy and don't go for the "guilt" trip of doing so. I have a problem with Gore the guru who flies around a fuel guzzling jet.So does Queen Pelosi who opted for a bigger one to fly back and forth to California.Remember her saying she wants to save the planet, yeah she flies we walk.We can all start by using the new energy saving light bulbs. Oh I forgot they are the ones with mercury in them.Oh,well seems like a good idea at the time. I guess you all heard that some genius politician wanted to tax cow farmers for any that own more than 100 for emitting "methane gas" yeah it's true. Can we bottle it instead?Or on second thought send some from the bull to that politician as he knows the B.S. when he sees or smells it.

where did the polar ice caps go? They've been around for millions of years.

2000-2009 is warmest decade in record since tabulation began in 1846.

2009 is the 5th warmest year to date.

    It's snowing somewhere during winter.

Global warming must be a hoax.

Ozone has been proven to increase and decrease in cycles. Also since we no longer use fluorocarbons on a large scale, the ozone cycle can no longer be thought of as a man made problem.

Next part the Earth's temperature has dropped in the last 10 years.

We are in a cooling phase of the planet caused by lack of sunspots, mostly. algore and his following are very arrogant to think humans can cause global climate change of any kind... hot or cold.

It seems to me that scientists should work intensely on projects that would clear up pollution in mega population areas like Shanghai, Mexico City & Lagos. The pollution there is man-made, and humans could find a good answer if they got out of their global-warming money grant grab and started to really solve solvable problems!

Try researching the climate during the Middle Ages sometime and get back to me.

For God's sake, wine grapes were grown as far north as England in the 13th century! And "Greenland" isn't just a name, it was an actual description of the island.

Well, Human Activities are becoming the main source of climate change.
