I used 2 live in Detroit and i kept some friends from there, so im offensive from that word. So i went up 2 him and told him to F off and stop using that word, so he pushed me and i punched him in the face and knocked him down. Now im suspended for 3 days. Did i make the right choice?

You called him out, he hit you and you defended yourself!! I don't see anything wrong with that.

If he pushed me I would've clocked him too. Talking is one thing but if someone gets physical with you they are just asking for a good smack upside the head. As long as you didn't physically touch him before he pushed you I'd say he definitely had it coming. But if you so much as poked him in the chest while telling him off then IMO he had every right to push you.
Personally I make it a point to never hit or push someone unless they do it to me first, no matter what they're saying with their mouths. An eye for an eye, so if they're just verbally assaulting you then don't touch them, but if someone physically assaults you it's self defense and they're just asking for it.

Yes. You were the voice of opposition. You felt strongly about a particular issue, and you drew a line in the sand and held on to your principles. Good for you.
