Big Ten Conference Question.?

with the wisconson AD recently saying the big ten would aggresivly pursue a 12th team who do you all think the team will be.

Update:

just as well i was going to say something about notre dame, i also despise them and even though i hate them they would probably be the leading candidate due to previous conversations with the conference.

Update 2:

um alright ami you have no place in this question i didnt want your opinion on a conferecnce (which is an unreaserched opinon) so please gtfo.

    Lots of possibilities...

Ohio University, Cincinnati, Pitt, WVa, Syracuse, Rutgers, Louisville,

but it won't happen anytime soon.

The main reason is that the BigTen remains highly focused on education and academics...

There just aren't many schools that fit them geographically as well as academically...

Despite it's private and religious heritage, the school with the best fit is Notre Lame, but with their holier-than-you (pun intended) attitude and exclusive NBC deal, they just don't need the BigTen...

Notre dame is really the only fit. But they have been trying to get a 12th team for quite awhile now, and Notre dame has a tv contract with nbc and if they join the big ten they will lose that contract. So idk if theyll join. Joh C. there is no way Ohio will ever join the Big ten they are nowere near the level of Big ten teams. THere is also no chance Rutgers, or Syracuse will join, they are in New YOrk? last i checked the big ten is in the midwest. I wouldnt mind Cinci or Pitt, but then again I doubt they will just take a team from the Big East, because they just set that conference and theres much competition between the teams in it, theyre all pretty evenly matched.

    Ya ami gtfo. hah

Whenever this subject comes up I hear Pitt as a likely candidate. From a demographic stand point it would make sense for the Big Ten to get more exposure in the eastern markets for which Pitt fits the bill.I don't see West Virginia as a real possibility. Big Ten brass would not think that WV would build league prestige or have much to offer.

Little girl, You need to look at the stats. As a conference the Big 10 leads in almost every category possible. Look at the numbers the Big 10 historically has been a dominant conference. They've been going down hill the last decade in football, which is sad.

the big ten has a rule that they can't expand unless there's already a team in the same state or a neighboring state. i think the most likely candidates to go after would be pitt or wvu, but it's entirely possible that neither would want to leave the big east for basketball reasons. i could see cincinnati as a possibility too, and they might actually be willing because that might spark a rivalry with in-state power ohio state. i would like to see notre dame join the big ten, but i don't see that ever happening.

I think the Big 10 is the worst conference in the history of college sports.
