What is you favorite video game of all time?

1) What's your favorite video game of all time?

2) What gaming system was it for (or that you played it on)?

3) Why was that game your favorite?

This game doesn't have to be what you think is the best game ever made. Just what one was your favorite. (i.e. someone might feel that Halo was the best game ever made, but their favorite game of all time might have been Duke Nukem for Nintendo 64.) Also, this doesn't have to be just console type gaming systems. It could also be games for the computer, arcade, etc.

This game is one of my favorites. I actually didn't play this game on its original system, Super Nintendo. I actually played it on a PC emulator. I loved it so much, my fiance got me an old Super Nintendo and a used cartridge from somewhere so I could play it on the console.

The game is basically a turn-based RPG. Its about a young boy named Chrono and his nerdy inventor friend, Luca. They inadvertently cause a rift in time, when they test out one of Luca's gadgets on a young girl they meet at the fair, Merle. She gets sucked in to a vortex and Chrono, being the valiant character he has to be, chases after her. And so the epic adventure begins, crossing the past, present, and future, and revealing a dark fate that awaits their world.

There are so many reasons why I loved this game. First, the story is very engrossing. I really got in to it. It has a wide variety of characters that come and go in your party. Each one has a unique role that they play in the story. Some of them even join you in surprising ways. There were also a bunch of different times and places to explore.

Second, there are tons of magic attacks, team combos, weapons, skills, armors, and upgrades. I loved the battle system. It was simple and efficient. Battles were frustratingly frequent, but always fun, and valuable in pumping up your characters.

Third, I haven't found another RPG that has had the same quality of story and game mechanics. The game just hooked me. And though I've played some fun ones (Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time), Chrono Trigger still tops them.

I'm a huge RPG fan so in that category, I'd have to say that pretty much the entire Final Fantasy series was right at the top of my list. I played this series from the Super Nintendo to the Playstation 2 to the PC.

As far as action goes, I've always thought highly of the Grand Theft Auto series for the Playstation 2.

In the Nintendo category, I will always appreciate everything that has been part of the Legend Of Zelda series. This is true brilliance on the part of Nintendo and Zelda was/is outstanding from Nintendo to SNES to Nintendo 64 to Gamecube to Wii.

There are more but those listed above are some of my standout favorites......

    1. I'm tossing up between Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Super Mario 64.

    2. Alex Kidd was for Sega Master System, Mario was for Nintendo 64.

    3. Both games served a major part of my life. Alex Kidd being the first video game I ever played on my first ever games console, but Super Mario 64 was the game I played the longest. I had the most fun playing it with my brother and some of the best memories I've had were on the N64.

So, again, it's hard to choose a favourite.

Can i have 2 answers? ill just pick 2 :D

    Resistance fall of man

    Playstation 3

It is my favourite because i thought the story was superb with the chimera overtaking the world and you play one man who can change it all. Getting infected mid game was exciting, wondering if you were going to die by the end of the game or if you would survive. It was just an epic game the online was also one of the first online experiences and was probably one of the best, aside from modern warfare.

    Bioshock

    Playstation 3

My favourite because of the story, just like resistance it was amazing and kept me hooked! An undersea world with crazed people and men in giant suits. The twists along the way kept you playing and playing. Like resistance i completed this game 4 times in a row on various difficulties. It never gets old.

I would recommend both of these :)

    1. I LOVE Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

    2. It's for many gaming systems, but I played it on XBOX 360

    3. Modern Warfare 2 is an step up over COD 4 and World at War, with a much larger significance. on the complex terrain in the environments, effects of the weather, all of the destructible objects, and the overall sense of action and chaos that comes with so many improvements to the visual side of the game.

Source(s): My love for Modern Warfare 2 =D

Quake 2..... my employes at the time were all part time workers going to a local university for programming.

One day they asked if we could have a "lan game" of quake 2.

I was hooked... I had never played any game "online" against someone before.

Before you know it, I had my business partner convinced, with a wink, that we all needed VooDoo 3 graphics card to see the "databases and code better" :-)

    1. Resident Evil 4

    2. PS2

    3. I love this game because the overall presentation is great, the story is go0d, has rpg elements and has some neat unlockables. This is the best Resident Evil title I've ever played.

    1 Final Fantasy VII

    #2 PS1

#3 Just a great game, especially for 1997.

Definitely Kingdom Hearts 1 for PS2. I love Disney, and it's so fun to play. It has the fighting aspect to it, but it's also very intellectual and not mindless. It's problem solving. And the graphics are amazing!
