How can a male teacher defend himself against attacks from a school superintendent?

What actions can a male teacher take to defend himself against false accusations from a school superintendent? This woman, the superintendent, is nuts... she is hell-bent on declaring him guilty even though there is absolutely no proof of wrongdoing (even after a 3 month investigation). Even so, she continues to harass my friends' husband by calling him into these meetings where she interrogates him to the point of making him physically ill. She has even admitted she has no evidence... just heresay and hunches. What does it take to stop this woman? Do school superintendents have bosses?

Yes, they have bosses, the Local Board of Education and also at the state level.

I would get a bit of legal advice (maybe free, especially on-line) from a licensed lawyer regarding how to file a harassment suit. Perhaps what is needed is only a cease and desist order fom the School Board. That carries heavy legal issues if it is then violated. Great evidence is needed if issue continues after one of these actions.

I've only known of districts where the superintendent is hired/fired by the school board.

Don't you have a Teacher's Union? AFT or NEA?

He should retain the right to have a representative from the union or elsewhere for any meetings.

Study the contract! Know the deadlines and procedures for probation, termination, etc. Hold the District accountable!

I have been through all the steps of grievance, right up to a successful labor arbitration case.

It was worth it, and the results of my case set precedent for other Districts.

Fight. If you don't have a union, do what you can to form one. Consult an attorney about a possible harrassment or defamation suit.

He should also look into disability insurance.

in accordance to the risk-free college Act each and every worker of a school district has a suited to guard themselves against any assaults or lifelike threats. although, many districts have misinterpreted the Act. they might hearth the worker for protecting themselves. That worker will would desire to employ a sturdy criminal expert with a view to get carry of lower back pay and restoration their employment place. this would probably create an opposed paintings environment. it particularly is my opinion that a nicely experienced martial artist working in a school would be extra beneficial off restraining a pupil than intentionally inflicting harm via superb or kicking a pupil. Intelligence wins over capability. Hapkido can provide you the essential equipment to restrain a pupil. although many different martial arts will do a similar alongside with yet no longer limited to: aikido, jujitsu, karate, chin na, or perhaps wing chun. in case you haven't any longer found out this on your type so far it particularly is beneficial to ask your instructor. I understand which you would be able to desire to no longer be on the point that the instructor teaches those recommendations to many times. however the instruct would evaluate coaching you this privately or would desire to flow over some issues with you after type to help you on your pastime. i be attentive to we've achieved this for some scholars that have been bouncers or protection workers. i be attentive to first had that it particularly is accessible in reachable via working dissimilar years in a school in the past shifting to administration.

That is why a teacher should join his/her local teachers union like the NEA and AFT. If he hasn't, then he needs to find a lawyer who specializes in this area and pay the out of pocket expenses, hoping he'll get reimbursed some day.

He should have gone to his union before it got to this point... but its never too late. Tell him to go to his union. If what you're saying is true, they'll soon have her in the same position your friend's husband is in now.
