Does a tattoo on the top of the foot hurt more than the wrist?

My husband and I both have a tattoo on our wrist. Now, we would like to get one on the top of our foot. Which is worse?

Update:

I thought the one on my wrist was going to kill me lol. I'm going to be in for it for on the foot I guess. Oh well, its worth it. Thanks for all the answers and advice. I really appreciate it.

Update 2:

Abears Mom.. yeah my wrist hurt really bad, but like you said its not stopping me from getting one on my other wrist too lol.

I just got a tattoo on the top of my foot Friday.

I don't have one on my wrist, but I do have one on my shoulder.

I don't have a lot of "cushion" (nor do most people) on the top of my foot. And there are lots of bones.

It hurt...I'm not going to lie. However it's not stopping me from getting my other foot done after Christmas.

The hardest part for me right now is that it's winter. And I live where it's quite cold and there's snow. I've cut a pair of my flip flops so no part touches the tattoo to wear until I feel comfortable putting shoes on again.

You have many bones on the top of your foot, but if you really want the tattoo, I don't think the pain would scare most off. I would say the biggest problem for me was after awhile, my leg wanted to involuntarily twitch when he'd hit a bone (yes it was due to "pain")...so I started laughing hard because I thought it was funny. When I laughed my leg would move more....so I had to start holding my leg so it wouldn't twitch. Lol.

Go for it. If you're getting a large one and you're that concerned, have it done it multiple sessions (annoying though for healing). Mine's medium size.

I also plan on having the inside of my wrist done at some point.

I have both and the top of the foot was WAY worse for me. The healing was what made it so bad. It was winter and I had to wear boots (which is not good for a new tattoo, it needs air) and I took off my boots and there were ink stains on my sock. I tried to take off my sock and it stuck to my skin. I ended up tearing off some skin when I took off my sock. Aside from that though, it was still really painful, much more so than my wrist. The wrist was just mildly irritating.

    Good luck!

You guys have painful taste! Those are said to be the two most painful spots to get tattoos. In my opinion, the wrist hurts more. It really depends on you, though. If you have thick skin on your foot but thin skin on your wrist, the foot will hurt less and vice versa. Try to determine which skin is thinner and in theory, that one will probably hurt more.

    Good luck! :)

oooh man. If you thought the wrist was bad.. the ankle is ten times worse. I have 9 tattoos (gone under the needle a total of 13 times) and the ankle was the absolute worse. I kept twitching uncontrollably. lol Everyone is different though because in all honesty I didn't even think the wrist was bad at all! Go for it! it will be worth it

Well, in my perspective they are both really hurtful, but if you ask me I think the wrist hurts more.

The top of the foot by far. I can say it was more painful to me than the one on my throat.
