Does anyone know if there are any laws the protect people against over zealous process servers?

Does anyone know if there are any laws the protect people against over zealous process servers? I live in a house that has the same address as one town over. We are maybe a mile apart. The family that lives there is constantly getting served for something. The problem is, they always come to my house instead of the house down there. Fine, I understand we have the same zip code, so stuff happens. The issue is, why are they allowed to come to your house at 11pm at night? Why are they allowed to ring the doorbell, and knock so hard on your door that they knocked a metal clip off the glass that holds it in? Why are they allowed to knock on your windows.

I didn't realize it was a process server until I got my robe, slippers and baseball bat in hand. I currently live in fear because of a personal issue I am having with someone and they threatened my life. This process server almost was a product of a fractured skull, and I was almost a product of a likely jail sentence had I did what I thought I needed to protect myself. Thank God, by the time I got the door open, he was getting in his car.

Aren't there any laws, in Illinois that protect people from process servers coming to you house at some ungodly hour and scarying the living stuff out of you?

Update:

Yes there are two houses with the same address! I am not lying, what kind of m*ronic response is that!

The only difference in the address is the town, just like it says in my post. SO EITHER answer with a logical answer, or don't bother answering at all!

I use to have the same problem. I lived on Midland Avenue in Joliet, IL I haven't live there in years, but I know the issues still persist there. There was several addresses that were the same. For example if I lived at 200 S. Midland Joliet, there was 100 S. Midland Joliet in Rockdale IL. Both had the same exact zip codes and the mail service use to mess it up all the time! In fact if you do a search of that street you will see that exact problem.I bet this is very much like what you are going through. I use to get knocks on the door from delivery services and if I were dishonest (well I would have a bunch of stuff!). Call you senators, local government and b**ch about the laws! Don't stop until someone is listening.

So, this is as much as the State -- THEY recognize what's superb for Arizona. Any Liberal could consider their very own Slogans -- "desperate situations, call for desperate Measures" & "The Ends Justify The skill" !! seem... Arizona is in some heavily undesirable STUFF, down there & Chicago, DC, isn't Feeling It !! enable Arizona, BE Arizona... in case you reside there, then positive -- Protest and whinge. If no longer -- concepts your individual friggin' bizzness. :) Edit -- You published an staggering Q, nevertheless :) Lotz of peepz on right here have some stable factors. Aside from being annoying and rude, what you describe doesn't sound like something you need protected from. If you really feel strongly about it, you could, I suppose file a complaint with the local PD for disturbing the peace.

Had they been threatening, or made some attempt to enter your home, that would be different.

For one, no one is going to have the same address...so, try telling the truth!
