Does Microsoft promote their products well?

They do a good job promoting.. It's that they make their money off of people that aren't techies. Microsoft always makes software that is bloaty and slow. They have consistently ignored web standards and designed their software in direct competition to others..I guess that's what they should do?? Anyway, this is why people now use Opera, Firefox, Chrome, etc...and soon google will come out with an operating system. Which is why I think they tried to do good with this current version of windows 7. It's by far the only operating system that MS has done right it seems. They still try to impose their formats on everyone else though..such as wmv vs mp4 and the like.

only people that wear tin foil hats believe this is happening. There are enough crazy people out there coding up viruses so that antivirus companies don't have to bother. I definitely don't think an antivirus should be part of windows. Microsoft started including a firewall with windows and a lot of good that did. It would've been better if they never included it in the first place so it doesn't give people false sense of security.
