Is kissing a natural human instinct?
I know I have had the urge to kiss someone.
Is this a natural human instinct, were humans born with the desire to make out or did we invent that ourselves?

Nope, it's actually not, look at other cultures, not every culture kisses eg. Eskimos kissing with their noses.
I think though, that it's such a phenomenon, you know, that's it's been spread from culture to culture and means something slightly different in each one (like in Ireland when you're a teen you make out with everyone and we call it meeting, really stupid and not romantic).
I think that it's not a instinct yet everyone does it and it's really nice and amazing when you kiss someone you love that it's better off not a natural instinct, like sex is.

From what I have seen of astonishing similarities among bonobo chimpanzees--including the swallowing of one another's tonsils--it's a natural chimpanzee instinct. We humans are often called the Third Chimpanzee, and you can certainly see why when you see bonobos kissing. My reaction is, "My god, it's the re-make of 'The Last Tango in Paris'!"

No, actually. There's a lot of places where kissing is pretty much unheard of. It was on the Yahoo blog.
Edit:
Got it:

So basically it's taught by society.

when you first kiss someone you just know what to do and stuff, so i think we were born with it.
