The National Museum itself is one it was built in 1870, Its real name is El Cuartel Bellavista and was originally a military barracks and the exterior walls still have many bullets lodged in them from the 1948 civil war. The building is still the same way it was originally but the inside of it has beautiful historical things in it. Some images below

Then there is the Museum of Joaquin Garcia Monge which is not a very popular one but it is a landmark. He was one of the best writers of Costa Rica and a artist and his house is a landmark and a small museum of art. It has remained the same way as when it was first built they have not made any structural changes to it and its now a museum, the inside of it is a lot nicer than the outside of it. It has a spanish colonial style it was built out of clay.
