Anyone recommend a good cookie press?
I bought a Deni battery operated cookie press to make Christmas cookies. I like the way it is constructed, I like that you get two dough tubes and 25 dies for different shapes, but the motor is just not powerful enough to squeeze the dough out through the die. I used the recipe that came in the instruction booklet, so I don't think the recipe is the problem. I'm returning it to the store tomorrow.
I would prefer a manually operated cookie press, but I don't know which one to buy. I want one that is sturdy, has plenty of dies, and is easy to operate. Does anyone have one that they really like?

AAaaahhhhhhh... the ever loving cookie press! Great idea BUT after trying to use one... you don't think it is so great after all.
My Mom has this older than dirt one... probably from the 70s it is the only one that I have ever used that works. However, by 'works' I mean you can make a couple dozen cookies, it's not a fun process nor is it efficient. But it is the only way that I have been able to find to make these WONDERFUL little Cream Cheese Spritz cookies.
Last year I tried rolling the dough into tiny balls and 'stamping' it with the bottom of a sugared glass... they tasted great but not so fancy.
I've tried the Wilton cookie press and the store brand Les Gourmet Chef cookie press and no, they both bit the big one. If you find one that is wonderful... please email me! Best of luck to you!

i chanced in this recipe from a e book. this is a kind of a spice shortbread cookie. curiously, it comes from Holland, the place this is general as St. Nicholas biscuits, and is used to rejoice the dinner occasion of St. Nicholas in Holland early in December. SPECULAAS a million cup common flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons floor cinnamon a million/2 teaspoon floor cloves a million/2 teaspoon floor nutmeg a million/4 teaspoon floor aniseed a million/4 teaspoon floor ginger a million/4 teaspoon floor black pepper a million/4 teaspoon salt a hundred twenty five grams butter3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar a million tablespoon rum or milk a million. Preheat oven to reasonably warm (one hundred ninety tiers Celsius). 2. Sift at the same time flour, baking powder, spices and salt. Cream the butter and sugar until eventually easy and creamy. Stir in milk or rum, then progressively upload the sifted factors and knead to a mushy dough. 3. Roll out on a gently floured board to 3 mm thickness and cut back into rectangular shapes. utilising a spatula, intently circulate to buttered baking trays and bake in a reasonably warm oven for 10 minutes or until eventually golden brown. Cool and shop in an hermetic field. be careful to not over-butter the baking trays. be sure to not shop them contained in the comparable field as different cookies, via fact the spice flavour would desire to impact the blander cookies. I unquestionably have tried it, and that i understand this is stable.
