Will my uvb light burn my turtle?
How close should the light be because im afraid if its too close it'll burn my turtle.
its about 6 inches away from it thank you.

6 inches is a bit too close. But it really depends on how many watts you're using.

UVB Lights don't give off much of heat unless you buy a UV bulb/heat bulb from pet smart but if you also have a heat lamp I would keep it above 12 inches at least. My 180 gallon tank is only filled half way with a with a light about 5 inches above the top making it around16-17 inches away from the turtles.

ok what strength UVB you using if its a 10-12% thats a little close but if its a lower say a 5 or 8 % that's fine
apparently people dont know the difference between a basking lamp and a UVB light

Oh, that really close to the turtle. Most books recommend about 12-18 inches away.

The basking site should be about 90°F. Adjust the distance accordingly.
