Floyd Patterson is #2 on my list of favorites, while Joe Frazier is #6 or #7, and I will flat out say that Smokin' Joe would have mowed Patterson down in under two rounds, but Patterson gets an A+ for effort and heart.

Floyd would have got whipped by Joe. Patterson was a fast fighter with good skill but didn't have enough to stop an aggressive left hooking Frazier who would come out smoking at the bell sending Floyd down early. Somehow Floyd would see the bell for round 2 only to get hammered in round 2 with sledgehammer left hooks sending Patterson down for the count.

I have Marciano finishing Patterson in 3 rounds. No sense analyzing anything here. It's all in the numbers. Frazier is a bit bigger, much stronger and punches much harder. Patterson has fast hands but that wouldn't faze Frazier. Frazier can be hurt but Patterson wouldn't have the chance to do it. He also wouldn't have the power. He knocked out Johannson and made him quiver but he's really not a very hard puncher.

Frazier, being a bit faster than Marciano, and also more of a pressure fighter, would track Patterson down in round 2. Though he doesn't have the one-shot power of Marciano, he's not far behind in that regard. Frazier would pin Patterson to the ropes after taking his best shots. He would chop him down with a series of body shots and finish him with a sweeping left hook.

    Frazier by KO in 2

Frazier's left hook is too much for Floyd Patterson's guile and agility. Frazier KO's Patterson in 4.

I'm going with Joe Frazier by late round stoppage around the 13th round.Patterson would have given Frazier some problems with his speed early, but with Joe's pressure, Floyd wilts by the tenth and is gone by the 13th.

Patterson was over the hill and hurting by 1967. He'd lost his speed and reflexes and his back was hurting badly by then so I think the younger and hungrier Joe Frazier would've devoured him.

    Joe Frazier...

this one would have happened had patterson got the decision over ellis in their wba championship fight, but had floyd got the decision (i thought floyd won it by one point), then frazier would have dominated him and ko'd him by the fifth.
