More and more politicians are representing the party they belong to. It goes to both parties unfortunately, I always hoped that the Republicans wouldn't do that but they have. They represent the interests of those they owe favors to and that no longer includes those who voted for them it seems...
I hope logic finally sees them through and I'm happy to hear when anyone writes to their representatives. Perseverance will come through hopefully.
I have written a congressman, I wrote Judd Gregg and asked him not to take the position as the Secretary of Commerce which he did not.

They are representing people like me who see a need for this bill. Face it, our current health-care system is broken. Compared to our European counterparts, we are still in the dark ages when it comes to providing adequate health-care to our citizens.
Keep in mind that one of the unalienable rights (meaning cannot be bought or sold) given to us by our Creator, which is mentioned in the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, is the right to life. Since it can be argued that you will probably need at some point in your life access to adequate health care in order to live, it can be argued that it is a constitutional obligation that has for far too long been ignored that our government step in and regulate, or provide alternatives to, the privatized health-care system in order to ensure that this constitutional ideal is met.
Don't buy into the scare-tactics of our scared private insurers. Instead, take a step back, set aside if you're a Republican, Democrat, or Other (I'm an other) and look at what is best for the country and for the individual

My senators and congressmen support my views, so I'm good to go. Your representatives must be democrats. So now you know who not to vote for and who to campaign against next time they are up for reelection.

So...you thought that your congrassman and senator are supposed to base their vote entirely around *your* opinion and none of their other constituents?
Because, you know, that's who they're representing in DC. Everybody. Not just you and "alot" of people you know.
