My 11 month old son has no teeth yet?

My son is 11 months and 1 week and has no teeth. He also shows no signs of any coming soon. When he had his 9 month well-baby check the doctor said is was pretty rare to not have any teeth by then. Anybody else have a child with late teeth? Should I be concerned?

That's dumb of your doctor to say that its rare at 11 months. Don't even listen to that. My son didn't start teething until after he turned 12 months, then her got 2 bottom teeth and then the next couple months he got another 2 teeth, he's going on 16 months now and he still only has 6 teeth.

Its completely fine. If your child hits 2 and still no teeth then you can be a little concerned. No worries ☺

Source(s): And for the first peson who awnsered you, I know she didn't mean anything rude but what she said about some children being late bloomers because of their teeth is completly incorrect. I take that as a rude comment, because that means that your child does everything late, hitting all their milestones late, and that doesn't even have any relavence in regards to teeth because thats something you can't control.

My doc, and all I've read and heard, say do not start worrying until the child is around 18 to 24 months and doesn't have teeth. Kids grow teeth and develop in pretty much every way at different ages. There are lots of kids that do not get teeth until after they turn one.

All infants progression in any different case. My mom stated I in no way crawled yet went immediately to strolling around fixtures at 5 months. hence of skipping a step i replaced into uncordinated for numerous years. honestly i think of i'm nevertheless uncordinated. My son and is cousin are on the subject of the comparable age. My son began sitting and crawling nicely in the previous his cousin. She did not start up till finally around a 12 months old. Now she's stepped forward in many techniques extra than my son. they're all distinctive and it will ensue while hes waiting.

No cause for concern. While most babies have teeth before a year, some don't, and it doesn't mean that anything is wrong.

(My daughter got her first tooth at around 13-14 months. She continued to get teeth late (didn't start to lose her babyteeth until she was 7) but her teeth are strong and healthy.

It's normal, i don't understand why the doctor said that.... no nothing to worry about. But you should start to see some cutting through by atleast 18 months.
