Finding out that my 18 month old daughter had type 1 diabetes. Learning how to count carbohydrates, how much sugar she could consume, measuring portions, giving her 4 shots per day and countless overnight stays at the hospital was overwelming. But, she's 5 1/2 now and the strongest person I know!!! I love her so.

I used to be terrified of being rejected and abandoned. It was a Gordian knot that looked to me to be insoluble. This sort of fear is not really the sort of thing you can fight because it's a lens that distorts how you see the world around you.
In the end, the way that I did it was to accept myself, to show myself love, kindness, and compassion. I didn't do this as a way to fight the fear. I did it as a way of listening to myself. I figured that if I can't beat it, then I can at least care. If I can't do anything else, I can at least care. So this act of caring began to heal that deep-seated fear. I've come a long way in healing in the past 7 years.

The fear of death. I used to be terrified of going to hell and burning forever due to a simple mistake, but I eventually came to the realization that it didn't exist.
