Are you guaranteed a boost in GPA from taking AP classes?

So I'm taking AP classes right now and I was wondering if taking AP classes guarantees a boost in GPA??

I know that some schools and such add .4 or .6 or something to your GPA for taking and passing an AP classes...

    Some do, some don't. The classes are more demanding so you are guaranteed nothing. In fact you may lower your GPA. Obviously you need to ASK your counsellor.

    ask your counselor or ur teacher or a friend or look it up in a student handbook/agenda

    my school offers a 1.0 boost :)

    buut i guess it depends on ur county
