Has Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover worked for anybody?

If so, exactly how?

It has so far. We are not out of debt but we no longer have credit cards. We pay cash only. And it is such a nice peace of mind when we pay cash...no worrying about payments or anything (like my laptop for example),

The budgeting part of it has helped us a lot too. We use envelopes to save for things and I use Dave's way for budgeting every pay period. The hubby is not too fond of it all but he is the spender. :)

I liked the class a lot. I like handling our money is a way that pleases God and gives us peace.

Have you taken the class yet?

Dave Ramsey's advice is no different than anyone else's. Works for some people, doesn't for others.

The Debt Snowball approach that Dave promotes is the same on that many financial advisors have promoted for decades and works VERY well for most people that are disciplined enough to follow it though.

Much of the information he gives is simply recycled Information that can be easily found through most financial advisors and some of it is widely criticized as it is not a one size fits all solution (IE: Buy Term Invest The Rest, etc)

My wife and I started using this one from the show "'Till Debt do us Part" just before our son was born: http://www.gailvazoxlade.com/resources.html

So far it is working very well.

    Edit:

lol, I love how someone came in and read our stories and thought "eff them you can't get out of debt using stupid systems THUMBS DOWN" at least thats how I imagined it :p
