HTC hero all apps stop working?

I try to restart my phone every week at a minimum and this time when I did, it turned on and it says all apps stop unexpectedly and nothing works, phone/text/apps all wont work. Any idea?

    Hi, have you tried turning off and popping the battery out for a few minutes?
