Surely we are all born agnostic because we have to choose a religion or to disavow all religions?

How can a baby choose or not choose to believe in God?

Children have no knowledge when they are born except the desire to suckle!

Therefore until they are taught about religion they are atheists!!

It never ceases to amaze me that christians find this so hard to understand when the word atheist and all it's connotations were set by the christian church!!!

Analise what you appear to claim - that you are born knowing and believing about a god and thus even agnosticism would be wrong!!

This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without skepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child's acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking.

They are christian, Muslim or the other religions depending where they were born simply because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren!!

Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!!

Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely.

Sadly Christians are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!!

We're all born atheists, because we're all born lacking any belief in any gods. When we are taught about this "god" idea that some people have, we either remain atheists or become theists.

You're right -- agnosticism is often misunderstood. It is the position that it is impossible to know for certain whether or not any gods exist. It is unrelated to belief, which is why it is possible to be both agnostic and atheist. We are *not* all born agnostic, because coming to the intellectual position that certain knowledge of gods is an impossibility requires an understanding of the concept of gods.

The choices we make are all toward seeking our happiness. Christians think that God must be our ultimate happiness and so they seek God. Others think that their happiness lies in some direction other than seeking God. There is no middle ground. We either seek Him or we don't.
