If all i wanted was something to keep my PC clean till my AV that i liked the best was ready i would go with hitman pro. I beta tested it. It's good and it works well.

I would recommend you Avira Anti Virus, it has topped the list of the best free anti virus.
I have used it for years and never received a virus due to it great all round protection.

It works better than sympatico anyway. And any anti-virus company who can not keep up with an operating system change is obviously unable to keep up with the latest viruses, so will NOT protect your machine.
