If there is a god.........?
why does he allow babies and people who don't deserve horrible things to happen to them, to let it happen. I know all of the believers will say " because he has a purpose for all of us" but please enlighten me on the purpose it serves to have a child raped and murdered; for an innocent person be put to death for something that someone else did and so on. Please tell me what purpose it serves for these things to happen. I used to be a believer but when I opened my eyes to the world around me to find all of these awful things happening, where is this god who is supposed to love and care for us?
there is no reason an innocent should suffer at the hands of someone when it could have been prevented, you know since this god is of all knowing so he knows whats to come-right? All im saying is that innocent should not suffer of any kind if they believe and of course if what they are believing in is real
see? i dont believe, so Im not blaming this god for these things. Im saying if there was a loving god, then these things would not happen to people. Oh and also, people who do believe, why do bad things still happen to them? of all people I think they should be immune of these things.I know this god didnt kill these people but he let it happen, which is why I lost my faith.

i'd like to know what those reasons are.

You know that rape and murder are wrong. How did you come to know this? Either you came to know it by the way our society trains us or it came to you by God.
If it came only by our society, then you are brainwashed. Your sympathy and empathy for those raped and murdered are simply the result of your training. You could have easily been trained to hunt down and kill people as slaveholders did before the Civil War (for the USA).
It is only if your sense of right and wrong is grounded in a universal lawgiver that you can say some behavior is good and some is bad. Otherwise, it's just your feelings and your particular upbringing.
So you either have to give up your outrage over other people's "evil" behavior or you have to accept the fact that there is a universal lawgiver and that can only be God.
If God does exist and our sense of right and wrong come from Him, then clearly He has told us to fight evil and encourage good. Are we so lazy that we sit around complaining about all the evil and blaming the One who sent us to solve the problems. Sure, God could stop evil but it would be at the cost of making us robots.

You are basing your question on a man made Christian God. "God" is a power, is all and is the animating force of the universe and all of creation. So therefore we are God in a way because God is everything. All our experiences, so called "good" and "bad" are for the sole reason of causing us to realise the reality of what we really are. God doesn't care, because there is no such thing as the God you believe or used to believe in.
You can see this written in more than a few passages of the Bible.

Because life is life. If life were perfect, what would be the point of it?
Here's the deal. I KNOW that there is a loving God. And I KNOW that it breaks his heart in half to see babies raped and families torn apart. But I also KNOW that God is going to let us choose what we want to do. And that's what those people want to do.
They will be judged.

Romans 5:12; Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Sin is what causes things to happen. We are sinful by nature and until we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior there will always be sin. We can't blame God for what we as man do. We sin.
John 3:16; For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
You see, Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross for our sins. He didn't have to but he did because he loves us. And Jesus Christ is God.

there is god! absolutely!! well things happen because god wants them to happen. in some cases these things happen to us even though we dont want them to happen because they may be a lesson to our lives. people were created with brains to think. think of the good things. if you are asking why are some people experiencing something that they don't deserve to experience, well then, god wants to test them. god wants to test their belief. it is not only a matter of doing good thing upon the earth but the belief to god and trust in him must also be considered. try to open up your mind again... or if you are really bothered, maybe it is in your religion.. why don't you try to ask about islam... think of it. i am leaving it to you as a challenge... but prejudge the muslims. may you find a better religion.

How is God responsible for any of this?
Is He raping these babies?
Is He murdering these babies?
Did HE murder the person that this innocent person was accused of murdering?
Why are you blaming God for what MAN did?
