Conservatives, would you vote for the guy who made these statements?

“I think every good Christian ought to kick Falwell right in the ***.”

“You don't have to be straight to be in the military; you just have to be able to shoot straight.”

“If everybody in this town connected with politics had to leave town because of chasing women and drinking, you would have no government.”

“I think any man in business would be foolish to fool around with his secretary. If it's somebody else's secretary, fine.”

“It's wonderful that we have so many religious people in our party, ... They need to leave their theologies in their churches.”

Update:

When enough people have responded I'll reveal the source of those quotes

Barry Goldwater is the man. He is the true secular Republican. Yes, I would.

I can't answer this question because none of the quotes have anything to do with the politician's stance on important subjects. I will agree with these 2 statements he/she made:

“You don't have to be straight to be in the military; you just have to be able to shoot straight.”

“It's wonderful that we have so many religious people in our party, ... They need to leave their theologies in their churches.”

    No.

Only the 3rd & 4th quotes make sense. The rest sound like some kind of self-righteous.

Goldwater was a little too stuck on himself. And I don't care much for people who have an anti-religion stick up their rectum.

Hey, I am a liberal and I am on board with that one, except Falwell is not with us anymore, he said in his lifetime the rapture would happen. Guess he was wrong. Sad!

Hm. Father (grandfather?) of the conservative movement.

No. A candidate like that would essentially be saying, "I have no character, but vote for me anyway."
