Should Bob Knight be questioning any other coach about integrity?

If you didn't hear, he brought up current Kentucky coach John Calipari having 2 programs put on probation...

http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2...

Isn't this a cheap shot from a coach who shouldn't be talking since his handling of players (often PHYSICALLY) got him fired from Indiana and ultimately made him quit at Texas Tech?

Update:

I think some of you are missing the point...Bob Knight is a great coach...No question...but he is overall, an azzhole in the media and to players...

My point is he is no sportsman...and he shouldn't be pointing out some other coaches faults at 2 programs when Knight himself was essentially forced out at 2 programs himself...

Bob Knight questioning ANYONE's integrity is like Tiger Woods calling someone a liar.

I think you might possibly be missing the point on why Knight is calling out Calipari. First let me say that I do agree with you that Knight has definitely had his share of troubles in the past. With that being said, he was rightfully punished. Like you have pointed out, he was ultimately FIRED from Indiana.

I think what Knight is calling out is the fact that Calipari has never faced punishment for his wrongdoings. His former Universities' programs face punishment, but Calipari himself never has. All he does is keep landing high-profile jobs while Knight slowly dwindled away into broadcasting.

It's like that saying, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Knight may not have a right to question another coaches integrity, but he does bring up a good point. Cheap shot? Possibly, but what about Calipari's former programs? How do you think they feel now that they have been punished, yet the overseer was not, and actually rewarded. That's a cheap shot.

You're right, Bob Knight is a tyrant and a bully. I'm glad he's out of basketball, and there's no way I'd ever let one of my kids play for him.

That being said... he does run an honest program. You're free not to like the guy, but you have to admit that there's never been any hint of cheating at any program that he's been head coach of. From that standpoint, yes he does have the right to question the integrity of other college coaches.

Look at Calipari's history. He's a cheating scumbag. Bob Knight isn't without his faults, but if Calipari's shoe fits, he ought to wear it no matter who the source of the criticism is.
