Poker. Royal flush true story.?

I was playing Texas Hold'em with three of my young nephews and neices last week. I was teaching them some of the rules. At aged 7, 7, and 5 you have to keep things simple. i shuffled and dealt the cards. I received K d Qd. I raised 3x big blind and the kids did the same (because Uncle Barry did), the flop came down. Ad 3c Jd. I checked and the kids did the same (because Uncle Barry did), the turn was 9s. I checked and the kids did the same (because Uncle Barry did) The river was .....10 d. I went all in and the kids did the same (because Uncle Barry did). I obviously won, and took all the chips. My 5 year old neice started crying, and the two nephews started arguing that I couldn't take the chips because they were theirs. Ho hum.

What's a guy to do? It's the first time that this has ever happened, and I would think that it would be the last?

Have you ever had a Royal Flush? and what are your stories?

Merry Christmas.

I haven't got a Royal Flush story for you although i do enjoy Poker but prefer Stud or even Blind Stud.

However you being an Englishman by birth you will be familiar with the game of Cribbage played in Pub leagues all over the UK, and i do have a Crib story for you which i know to be true.

About 50 years ago my late uncle headed a pub crib team and in those days they started with a new deck of cards at the beginning of the season and carried on until the end with the same deck.

Well it was the very last game of the season, my uncles team were finalists and his team had supplied the Crib board and cards. Well it was the final hand, and Uncle Arthur was dealt 4 Aces.

"Oh well" he thought "I'lll rely on my partner having high cards and pegging out". The pack was cut for the 5th card and, yes you've guessed it it was another Ace of Spades. Unbelievably, during the entire season nobody had thought to count the pack. It contained 53 cards.

When i learnt to play Cribbage myself he recounted me this story and a couple of other people backed it up.

    Have a very Happy Christmas.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'five a kind suited'...if you mean 5 of the same rank, then that's only possible when wild cards are used (and would not be 'suited' in any case.) If you mean 'straight flush', then a royal flush IS a straight flush...the highest possible one (and the best possible hand when no wild cards are used.)
