Why do people tell people to abort pups?
There is such a thing as a no-kill shelter and hey, maybe the puppies were wanted. I can understand getting the mother spayed and stuff, but doesn't aborting the puppies put her under stress. And I have seen people on this site saying mutts should be aborted because they have health problems. Not all mutts do! In fact, most mutts are healthier than purebreds.
Explain how it is a myth. I had a mutt who was much healthier than the dogs I have now.

Spay/abort is LESS stressful to the b*tch than whelping, nursing, and rearing the puppies.
'No kill" shelters are feel-good LIES. They simply turn the dogs they can't adopt out over to kill shelters, the others they keep in cages for far too long.
People don't say mutts should be aborted because of health problems, but because the shelters are already overflowing with mutts - mutts like these that were wanted and sold as puppies, but abandoned when they were "too much trouble" because people place less value on mutts.
It is a MYTH that mutts are healthier than purebreds.

Mutts being healthier than purebreds is a myth. Completely untrue. Second, why bring more puppies into the world when there are already numerous litters that have already been born that are euthanized because they're unwanted, and a home cannot be found for them? I don't think mutts should be aborted simply for being mutts. We wouldn't have the need to abort ANY litters if people were responsible with their pets by getting them spayed and neutered, or properly supervising them. There is no such thing as an "oops" litter. The owner is at fault, therefore it cannot be a mistake. They should have taken the necessary precautions to ensure their intact dog didn't come in contact with another intact dog. If they can't do that, that is why spay and neuter exists.
There IS such a thing as a no-kill shelter, but does that mean there should be a free ticket for people to dump unwanted litters of pups or kittens on them? No. There are animals that are already alive in this world that could use that space.

I don't think you understand, around the world there are some 300 million dogs sitting in no kill shelters now. And if every person who owns a female dog allows it to have just 1 litter. The numbers of dogs and puppies would be off the charts. So it is a lot better to abort a litter of pups before they are born and viable the allow them to be born and sit out their lives in a cage with little human contact.
Ok now that is estimates numbers on no kill shelters, Now what about the 250 million that are in state, county and government run shelters that still do put them down.
And there is no numbers on rescues.
So now is there a good reason for aborting a litter?
And also when they abort they also spay at same time.
As for your statement about mutts being healthier the purebred, so me the facts on that.

no-kill shelters are not a solution. The fact that you contimplate dumping the pups in a shelter at all- no kill or not, shows that you should not breed the dog. There's no reason to make more pups to take up room in shelters!
many of the no-kill are so full that they can NOT take anymore dogs. Most "no-kills" are not really "no-kill" anyways.. many of them will rotate dogs with kill shelters. While that shelter wont kill the dogs, the dogs eventually end up in a kill shelter anyways. Even if the no-kill shelter does not do that.. many dogs are not adoptable and sit in the shelter for months or years on end.. this is NO LIFE for a dog to live!
Every home that one of those puppies takes is a home that a death-row dog or "lifer" dog could have.
There is also NO PROOF that mutts are healthier. I have seen plenty of mutts with health issues. Mutts are a crapshot at genetics and you have NO CLUE what you are producing when you allow a mutt to breed.

Explain how they are healthier?
Mixing does NOT cancel out health issues. Many dogs of similar size/type share some of the same health issues anyways. Most medium-large breeds have hip displasia. PRA is present in all breeds, most small breeds are prone to luxating patella. You're not removing health issues.. instead you make a wider range of health issues that the dog could be prone to. You have NO clue what your dog genetically carries.
A purebred dog from TESTED parents is far healthier. Health issues dont automatically present themselves just because a dog is purebred either. If the parents DO NOT carry the gene for that disease, then that health issue WILL NOT be present!
My purebred crested is far healthier than every mixed breed dog I've ever owned.
Its basic high school genetics.. DUH.. dont they teach that anymore??

Because there are millions of crap bred dogs in shelters dying. There doesn't need to be any more. Pregnancy and birth puts a b 1tch under more stress than emergency spay/abort. Mongrels are NOT healthier, it's quite the opposite. Please get your facts straight.
Edit: Reputable breeders do genetic health testing on their breeding stock, making sure they don't pass on any ailments or diseases such as hip/elbow/knee dysplasia, Von Willebrand's disease, Addisons disease, deafness, blindness, Demoid Sinus etc. People who breed mongrels do none of that, so there's a much higher chance of the b 1tch and/or sire passing on diseases onto the pups. There's no such thing as hybrid vigor.
