I'm a Yu-Gi-Oh! Addict. Do not become one!?

The first step to beating your addiction is to admit that you have one. Hi my name is Justin Nelson and I am addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh!. I think it started back in like 2002 when I went to my friends Tony's house. I was waiting to get in and there were these kids behind me playing this card game and I was wondering what they were doing so I asked and they told me we're playing Yu-Gi-Oh! and I was like what the hell is that? And they explained it to me. It was complicated at first, but when I got all the rules down is when I started getting good at it. I had a couple duels with them and my friend's in his house like where's Justin? He looks out the window and sees me playing cards with these kids and he's like get ur *** up here! I have decks we can play together. So then we started playing, time goes by. next thing I know it's 5:00 in the morning and we are still goin at it! So then I get really good I beat just about everyone I know over the next couple months. I get a couple hobby league tourneys under my belt, things are looking good then one of my friends is like "well if you think ur so good why don't u go to nationals?" I'm like how do u do that? He said u have to qualify so I do and I go, I make it to semi-finals and lose, but the fact that I made it that far shows how good I am and ever since then I have been collecting games, manga, movies and anything else u can think of. I call out of work to go to tourneys like every other week (my boss expect me to actually bring back trophies as proof that I went) and have been for the last 7 yrs. I have all the games except the new one on the Wii. I am a 27 yr old who is addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh! This is my story don't let it happen to you.

There is nothing wrong with being a "Yugioh Addict". If you love the game, and enjoy playing it, then you have no problem!

So some people don't like the game. You're always gonna get people like that. But if you stick to what you love and enjoy doing, then your set for life!

Don't try and talk people out of what they like, even if you think it was a mistake.

You know... Yugioh seems very addictive. I say this because when it was popular I didn't even think about. I saw the cards and thought poker is much more satisfying and doesn't need special cards to play. Well f that mentality... it was about 3 yrs ago when I first started to get in the game. I misplayed a lot but eventually grasped it. I thought it was weird how often I was playing... so I quit... for like a month. Then I find my self doing it almost every day... and now... absolutely everyday. Now why the game is addictive... idk. It's not like candy crush that gives a life supply to stop you from playing abit leaving you wanting more, but has the same effect. One small game just isn't enough. If it is a bad habit? idk... all ik is that ygo is growning... and wasn't a "fad" seeing how just a yr or so ago it beat the world record for most bought card game. And about not helping you in life... im also sure that watching tosh.o or Duck Dynasty... or whatever... doesn't help either. How does that mean don't watch it?

Dude Yu-Gi-Oh was cool until about 2005. Move on. You might be really good, but all that doesn't matter as it isn't going to help you in real life! Listen, i liked Yu-Gi-Oh a lot from when i was 8 to 11. It was awesome, because it had a story and everything but i still quit it when the right time came. Your 27, move on bro! Thanks for your story, but it is not too late for you!
