It's generally considered to be "far right wing," but they thought of themselves as a "Third Way." Notice that I used "a" not "the", since there are other "Third Ways".

Fascism isn't in the category of left and right. Communism is the left, Neo Conservatism is the right. Anarchy is the down and fascism is the up. (In a 2d plane) See fascism is Government type and Communism is Economic type. If you were to look at it in a linear only way then it would be right. Where as Anarchy would be left.

The scene of the book is laid in Britain in order to emphasize that the English-speaking races are not innately better than anyone else, and that totalitarianism, if not fought against, could triumph anywhere." -George Orwell (Writer of 1984 and Animal Farm)

Fascism is a little to the right of the UKIP party, and a a lot left of the BNP. A lot to the right of the Tory party and just a little to the right of New Labour, which really is sort of 'Old Tory', if you know what I mean. And Gordon Brown is a dead man walking.

It's authoritarian as opposed to libertarian. It is neither right nor left wing in today's political spectrum.

Mussolini carried around the Communist Manifesto so he certainly isn't in much disagreement with Communists. Nazi is short for National Socialist, which is also thought to be a left thing.

People often talk about the political spectrum as if it is a continuum but it is better viewed as a quadrant. the x axis being left and right, the y axis being (top) authoritarian and (top) libertarian.

Fascism would be on the top more towards the center, the further right would be theocracy, the left communism/socialism.

Another word for Fascism was ''Corporatism', according to Il Duce, and sought to join the power of the corporation with that of the state.

Not many left wing corporations out there.

    Ha ha! Joke, right?

Liberalism tears away at personal freedoms in the Bill of Rights.

It's not the opposite of liberalism. It's the opposite of Libertarianism.

Fascism is authoritative total state control, which is an extreme far far left position. With the very far right position being no government at all.

Fascism is a support of the "Third Way" in economic policy, which they believed superior to both the rampant individualism of unrestrained capitalism and the severe control of state

Actually fascism is a combination of far right and far left wing politics.

Most fascist leaders started out as socialist. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc all started out as "parties of the people."

After gaining control then they became dictators.
