Can anyone help me decide which ipod touch to buy for my young teen?

I am buying one of these for a 14 year old.(my son) Besides memory is there any reason to buy the 32 gb? Is there anything different about the 32gb that makes it much better to have?

I don't mind spending the extra money if it's worth it. I expect to have to buy him another in 1-2 years, hopefully 2 years. (because by then I am sure there will be something else to replace it)

Can anyone give reasons why the 32gb ipod touch 3rd gen is better than the 8gb ipod touch 3rd gen.

Thanks

There is really no other reason other then the amount of memory.

My parents got me a 8GB iPod Touch - but I'm a really musically person - I listen to all kinds of music , from Classical to Rock ; which is not good because it narrows down the space for apps.

Some of the apps are educational :) , there's like dictionaries , etc. It's pretty useful for school .. I would always take it out if I don't understand words - haha suckers who need to open up a proper dictionary and takes them ages to find the meanings..

It depends - but being a teen like me , if you go through our iPods and MP3s , there are at least 500 songs ..

32GB might be useful in long trips , because you can put movies . But other then trips , I'm guessing it's pretty useless. Why would you watch movies on your ipod at home when you have the big screen TV?

Overall - I reckon 8GB isn't enough. 32GB might be a BIT too much. Why not try getting the 16GB? :)

The only difference is the storage capacity, obviously I'm sure your aware the touch has the great ability to serve as more than just an mp3 plater but it serves as more of an entertainment centre with ability to watch videos, music, games and even a personal organizer so obviously the bigger the size the better.

I have a 16gb touch and I have about 1000-1200 songs on, about 20 games and other applications, plus photos and I'm only using about 9gb.

:) tbh a 16 GB is big enough, especially if your going to replace it in a couple of years

But it depends on how much music he has.

My friend bought an 8, whichshe filled up in a couple of months! and my other friend has a 32 which shes hardly filled!

I, myself, have a 16 GB and its pretty perfect comprimise between not having enough space and wasting money.

do you think you could have a look at my question- i could really do with a parents perspective! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvLbh...
