Please share ideas for a gift from Ontario, Canada to Seattle. Something exclusively from here or uncommon there.ex brand of chocolate bar?
I am sending a gift to someone who lives near Seattle. I would like to include something from Canada as a little treat that is either exclusively from here or something that would be difficult to get there.
I was thinking Ontario Ice Wine, Maple Syrup and maple candy. I was going to include some Smarties because I know they are a completely different candy in the USA and Canada.
I know certain chocolate bars and chip flavours used to be only in Canada but I think that has changed. (Coffee Crisp, Dill Pickle chips, Ketchup chips, certain Cadbury bars but I don t know which)
2 AnswersSeattle6 years agoWhat would you do? Is all revenge always bad?
Two people are getting married in a few months, they have dated for over 4 years. They have ups and downs but are best friends. She has a child from a previous relationship which is why she waited 2 years of dating to introduce them and another year before getting engaged. (another year to plan)
Ok, she finds out he has been telling lies about something serious to her. Something he knew was a dealbreaker for her. She confronted him in tears and he asks for forgiveness she decides she needs time to sort through feelings before giving up on this for her sake and that of her child. She finds he still hasn't been completely truthful.
Not talking about cheating but the issue is after being hurt so deeply and finding out he clearly can not be trusted, do you let it go and move on? or do you gradually get him out of your child's life so as to lessen the blow. It appears the only way to make this guy feel anything is through the wallet. Tempting thought was to let him buy a few nice things before saying the final goodbye. I think that is the wrong thing to do but after giving him over 4 years of life and countless tears it seems fair to have something to show.
5 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoWhat to do about a deadbeat father who want to return again?
A couple married due to a pregnancy. About a year later the woman found out the man was drinking and doing drugs instead of working. There were signs but they were missed. He spent everything they had and put them in debt. He was abusive and cruel-the police were never called. One day he left for work and never came back, she reported him missing, everything was found out.
She waited 1 year for him to clean up and change it didn't happen. She ended things for good. He has never paid support and rarely visited. He has been out of contact for several years now except for the odd phone call saying he is on his way back and wants his child back. He has no remorse and refuses to see that he did anything wrong. he actually said so.
The father has not been badmouthed to the child at all.
Would you let this man back? Let the child decide? There is no chance this guy is better. I am quite sure he is a sociopath. (seriously)
What to do in that situation?
3 AnswersParenting1 decade agoCan cookies get on my computer if I haven't been to their site?
HI, I was wondering if three cookies from a site could end up on my computer if I have never visited that site. I know for sure I haven't been there and I would blame the boyfriend except he hasn't been at my parents house for 2weeks. (it's my home computer) The cookies are from a porn site and I didn't go there. The cookies are deleted every few days by me so I know what's there.
Is this possible? Where did the cookies come from?
Could someone else have used the computer?

1 AnswerSecurity1 decade agoCan someone help me decide which ipod touch to get my son.?
I am buying one of these for a 14 year old. Besides memory is there any reason to buy the 32 gb? Is there anything different about the 32gb that makes it much better to have?
I don't mind spending the extra money if it's worth it. I expect to have to buy him another in 1-2 years, hopefully 2 years. (because by then I am sure there will be something else to replace it)
Can anyone give reasons why the 32gb ipod touch 3rd gen is better than the 8gb ipod touch 3rd gen.
Thanks

1 AnswerToronto1 decade agoIf you could not marry in the church of your denomination would you..?
I asked this in the religion section but didn't really receive a response.
If you were unable to marry in the church of your denomination for 2-3 years, would you marry in another church that is still Christian or would you be married in a civil ceremony. (the clergy would use a spiritual ceremony that's kind of non-denominational Christian with a blessing and readings from the same bible you read -you supply the readings.)
In 2-3 years you would have a small private ceremony in your own church.
I am unable to just wait the 2-3 years due to various reasons.

3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agocold feet? or more serious?
My "fiance" and I decided to get married three months ago. We were planning on living together. (at his house) I said that I wouldn't do it if we weren't headed toward marriage, he said he felt that way too. We talked further leading me to ask if we were actually engaged. He said yes. As I understood it he would ask again soon officially.
Three months later. No proposal. (ring wasn't supposed to come yet due to $$) I have asked outright and he said he had a "plan". We were fighting for the first two months a bit.
Well, two days ago I told him I waited long enough and that was it. I was leaving him. I love him but I was done since I could no longer believe he felt the same. (we had planned on moving in June 26th so he knew he had to do it well before then)
He then cried. (real tears, and lots of them) He said "will you marry me??" I didn't know what to do. I said yes. BUT I am still not sure.
He says he loves me. He treats me well. (now) He says he wants to be married. BUT no proposal until I was leaving?!?
I am doubting this whole thing now. We have been together for a couple of years. (only serious for one year)
I don't want to marry someone who isn't 100% into it. He waited until I was walking away. Does it count?
What would you do??
4 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWill the time ever come?
Will the time ever come when we can all co-exist without fighting about who is right and wrong? It's your business whether or not you believe in God. Why does it matter if anyone else does or doesn't? I believe in god. I respect those who don't even though I don't agree with their position. I don't put them down and I don't call them offensive names. I also don't tell them they're going to hell. I see some people doing that and I'm sorry that it happens. BUT I also see people who don't believe in God calling all those who believe horrible names. That also bothers me. I am not stupid, I am not blindly following anything. I am very educated and I have the right to believe as I wish.
In this section we could talk about different beliefs, learn from each other and maybe see a point of view we haven't before. Instead, it seems we are destined to be fighting about something that nobody can prove. If you believe then don't judge those who don't. It is their choice. If you don't believe then be happy with your belief but don't put the rest of us down. We are not stupid, we just don't agree with you. (and by believer I include anyone with a religion...whatever that religion is)

Hi, I was looking for a restaurant in Toronto that serves authentic Newfoundland dishes. (ex. jiggs dinner) I know of a few Newfoundland grocery stores that sell packaged things like Hard Bread and some other Purity products but I haven't been able to find a Newfoundland restaurant.

2 AnswersToronto1 decade agoWhat to do in Paris?
HI, I am going to be in Paris in September but only for one day. (I am stopping there on my way from the Netherlands to Italy.) I have never been there and I don't know anyone who has. What should I do for my one day?
Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be the regular tourist things. Just need something fun to do for an afternoon. A nice restaurant, cafe, some place that is a "must see", any help is appreciated.
thanks
