Can cookies get on my computer if I haven't been to their site?
HI, I was wondering if three cookies from a site could end up on my computer if I have never visited that site. I know for sure I haven't been there and I would blame the boyfriend except he hasn't been at my parents house for 2weeks. (it's my home computer) The cookies are from a porn site and I didn't go there. The cookies are deleted every few days by me so I know what's there.
Is this possible? Where did the cookies come from?
Could someone else have used the computer?

there are many sites, specially advertising, that use others web pages.. probably you have cookies from sites like doubleclick, adsense, etc....
when you visit a website the page logs into multiple places to serve ads, news, video, etc. and they can put cookies into your computer.
Some browsers, like Google Chrome, have the option to allow cookies only from the site you visit.
but I suggest you download ccleaner... it will take care of the cookies for you, and you can keep the ones you need.
