MTG Deck Help Please?

Hey pplz,

I'm new to MtG (and i'm a yugioh guy!) but i know all the rules and stuff of magic, and i wanted some help with a deck. These are my requirments:

1. Cheap to Cheapish - nothing too expensive

2a. Fast Paced deck - swarm the field quickly, gain advatage

2b. Fast deck with flying + haste creatures

2c. possibly burn

2d. Possibly mill

2e. Any other good deck that you can think of.

The deck should be based around any of the points from 2a - 2e incl point 1.

Also what is a storm deck??? Just curious. Sorry if i sound noobish

lol :D

Also, i would prefer if you would not list your actual decks here as i do not like to "netdeck"/steal peoples decks, (unless you give me permission :D)

Thanx to all!!!!!

don't mean to be the spoiler here, but im a veteran of MTG, and in my experience i've never seen a swarm deck work. all that ever happens is the guy brings out a bunch of weak dudes, gets him low on health MAYBE, and then the other guy gets his mana up and beats the living daylights outta him. if you want a pro's advice, its much better to go with a long term strategy. the best combination i've ever tried is red and green - they work very well to each other's strengths (mainly aggression), and also have a lot of shared mana cards. if you can, try to get a deck with a lot of damage spells and good quality summons. use the damage spells to keep the opponents' little buggers off you (fireball works great for that - can do damage to multiple targets), then bide your time with a few medium summons and those spells till you can let your fury loose. probably the most scared i've ever been in a match was when a green junky pulled a craw wurm (6,4) on me, and then the next turn laid a wurmweaver's coil (enchnt. +6/+6) on its stinking @$$. then he put on one of those flying enchantments, and wrecked me. if you want brute force, go for green. those are the most powerful monsters you'll ever see.

Your requirements start out with the usual White Weenie type of deck (for point 1), but to get fast paced creature, with haste, you would want a cheap RED deck that has cheap goblins and burn, but no fliers. Fliers go back to White Weenie and only a few that are cheap.

Mill is blue, it's slow, not very aggressive, so drop this idea until you are more familiar with magic.

A Storm deck relies on spells that are played during a turn. It best works with suspended cards or cards that give you mana to play more spells. Dragonstorm is a very common Storm card. For each spell played during the turn, you get the ability to search your deck for a dragon and put it in play. Storm count also counts opponents spells played during the turn, but once a storm spell is cast, the storm count is set at the time of casting, so it doesn't increase if you or your opponent respond. Storm is also difficult to deal with as it puts a copy of itself on the stack for each spell count there is, so if you cast something like seething song, seething song, dragonstorm, then the possibility of looking for 3 dragons exists. Your opponent may respond by cancelling the original dragonstorm spell, but the storm effect still keeps the other 2 copies on the stack.

    Hope this helps.

are you looking to play this deck competetivly or casually with friends?

theres a lot of good red aggro decks out now that are quick but will require money....as an alternative and either way really you can download magicworkstation which will let you make any deck you want and play against people from around the world(for free). This means if you think of a neat deck idea but you dont want to drop all the money on it you can test it out on there to make sure your gonna enjoy it.

    Hi, um,

There was a new warrior deck that just came out that had a red box, which is worth taking a look at. you also might like a D.D. deck cos they' re really annoying 4 ur opponents. i bought it and i lose about 1 in every 20 to 25 duels.

i think you are looking for a boros deck. ( or red white if you want) its got plent of fast little sturdy things that you can slap onto the field and since your running red in there you can go right on aheand and toss burns where you like.

    lets list some cards.

    goblin guide

    goblin legionaire

    flame javalin

    flame of the blood hand

    lighning helix

    lightning bolt

    serra avenger

    pianna nomad captain

and there are a bunch others but i have forgotten them for the moment. actually if you write back i have a deck listing that only lost once. well hope i helped. later

I'd start with the cards in the Shards of Alara/Conflux packs: Font of Mythos (each player draws two extra cards per turn) and Memory Erosion (whenever target player plays a spell, that player moves the top two cards from their library to their graveyard). You might want to grab some Reliquary Towers as well, as they give you an unlimited hand size, in order to counteract the forced discards from Font of Mythos. You might also want some of Relic of Progenitus, which allows you to remove all cards from all graveyards, so they can't do stuff to pull the cards back out.
