The same point of having a 2-core CPU. Its to make it quicker, with 2 cores one can focus on sending out the information/signals and the other processing all the data that it has recieved, creating better performance.

This is similar to asking "What is the point of SLi/Crossfire?"
You are simply getting more performance. Also, a 2 GPU core design allows it so you can have 2 "video cards" in a system that only has 1 PCI-E slot. On top of that, the 2 GPU design allows you have to have ANOTHER 2 GPU card to get 4 GPUs in total. Mucho power right there.

2 cores allow you run 2 tasks simultaneously. One core would have to run through tasks one by one.
