How to get my mom to let me live my life?!?
My mom controls how I dress, my hairstyle, what kind of schoolbag I use, what sort of shoes to wear, etc. I can't even ******* cut my hair the way I want to! She always tells the barber that "I want..." and that's not what I want!! How do I get my mom to stop giving me bullshit and let me live my own life??
Emancipation: What and how do I apply for that in Hawaii??? Can I do that without my mom knowing?
EDIT: Screw the emancipation then, I'll wait it out.
I want to know, then how to get my mom to let me live, and I have to wait to get a job my mom won't let me do that either, she thinks I'll run away. Tch.
And not everyone sells things to tourists here, some of us live normal, everyday lives too, and something like that is how I live, only with a whacked up mom. So if that answers a few questions...
Also my age well I'm 15 now in Hawaii my teacher told me I can work at 14. With parent's permission.

how old are you?
You need a better reason for emancipation than just what you stated, you also need to be an age where a judge will grant what you want. And NO you can't do it without your mom knowing, it's a court case, unless there is real abuse, you are not going to get it.

Step one to emancipation is getting a job to support yourself. Then you might not need emancipation to get what you want. Can't you sell cheap stuff to tourists like everyone else on the islands?

getting emancipated isnt as easy as you think you have to prove to a judge that you can live on your own and have a place somewhere.
until then i would talk to your mom about it and tell her that your older now and can make some decisions for yourself.
if she doesnt listen suck it up you can move out when your 18.

Well this depends on how old you are. I agree that you should just deal with it till your 18. Or talk to you mom and tell her that you are your own individual and want your own space. Tell her to just back off a little.

My Mom did the same thing to me and was still doing it when I was in my 20's! I don't know how old you are but have you considered changing who cuts your hair to someone your Mom doesn't know?

Start taking more responsibility's around the house. When you want to pick something on your own, remind her of how well you behave and how responsible you are. She just might see your logic.

Start paying your own way and do all of those things for yourself. That's the greatest thing about growing up. Don't ask, Just do it.

TSK TSK TSK .. I'm having the same exact problem. so im not completely sure i can fix your dilemma. Tell her your not a baby without saying the exact words "Mom im not a baby"
- peaches6Lv 71 decade ago
Talk to your mom respectfully and let her know you're not a baby anymore. Maybe she doesn't realize she's doing it. Good Luck!

Deal with it for now. Start saving money, get a job and you're free to leave when you're 18.
