Can you use a high pressured Co2 tank on a nitrogen based paintball gun?

I need to know if I'm going to have to buy a nitrogen tank for my 09 UL proto slg I'm getting the gun for free so I don't really mind to much if I did have to but if I don't I would rather not waste the money so can someone tell me if I can use a high pressured Co2 tank on a gun that takes nitrogen? Please and thank you. =D
