Is tylenol PM safe to take during the third trimester?

i am 34 weeks pregnant, and i got a little sick over the weekend, and i always have trouble sleeping because of back pain and stuff like that. I want to take a sleeping aid, and i heard benedryl and tylenol PMs were safe, but then yet, i also heard only tylenol regular strength is safe. I dont know??? i just wanna sleep good at night? Any suggestions??

Tylonel PM is not recommended for pregnant women. The only thing I've heard of to be ok for pregnancy and insomnia is unisom or your doctor can prescribe something that would work for you.

The OBGYN told me no on the Tylenol PM. Said regular tylenol and that if I needed benadryl was ok for occasional use but to avoid anything that is specifically for night time use.

I had the same thing last week, 34 weeks pregnant too, congrats. My ob asked me to take tylenol pm but half the normal dose, so I took 1tab instead of 2tabs.

You really really need to ask your doc. He knows your case. My OB put me on ambien about 3 weeks ago (I'm carrying twins and he's convinced that my preterm contractions were partly related to insomnia). He says it's perfectly safe, but I only take it if it's really needed. I know that benadryl and tylenol are safe earlier in pregnancy, but once you get to the third trimester, I'd say you really have to be careful with every med you put into your body. Ask your doc first and foremost whenever it comes to medications.

Regular tylenol, but nothing with a sleep aid. Warm milk, a nice relaxing bath (not to hot), have your hubby give you a massage.

Call the Pharmacy or your doctor DO NOT post something like this here because someone can give you the wrong answer a Pharmasist or Doctor or your Midwive are the only ones to give you that answer as they know you, your allergies and all.

It could end up hurting your unborn baby.
