Is it possible to enter the NFL playoffs with a record of 7-9?

The lowest record a team could make the playoffs is 3-13. If all four teams lost all their games outside the division, and each won one against each divisional opponent, all teams would be 3-13 and 3-3 in the division. The division leader would be decided by tiebreakers to decide who would go to the playoffs.

As a division champion, it is possible but very unlikely although San Diego did it in 2008 with an 8-8 record and they needed to win their last 3 in a row to do it.
Wildcard....very unlikely under the current division alignment, although when there were 3 divisions of 5 teams apiece, an 8-8 team made it at least once maybe twice in that time period (between 1996 and 2002).

Yes it is, but the division would have to absolutely horrible. As long as you're the division leader, you'll make the playoffs, regardless of your record.
One division could have records like this:
6-10
4-12
4-12
3-13
.....and the 6-10 team would make the playoffs.

i could see it happening in a divison. like if there was one division with the detroit lions, st. louis rams, cleveland browns, and tampa bay buccaneers, i could see a team win that division with a 7-9 record. 6-10 might be pushing it. definitely don't think any team can win the wild card at 6-10. i think the vikings have won the wild card with a 7-9 record, but i'm not positive.

yes 7-9 is a possibility if your whole division suck like lets take the AFC West. as an example i randomly chose it
Chargers 7-9
Broncoes 7-9
Raiders 6-10
Chiefs 4-12
Then since Denver and San Diego r tied they would have a tiebreaker of some sort like a coin flip to determine winner. im not an expert guys im still new to the NFL
i dont have anything against any of these teams alright this was random

I think so. No matter what their record is, if a team wins their division, they get into the playoffs. If they are second in the division though, they have a lower chance of getting in.

It is a possible scenario if you win all six divisional games and your division is terrible, 6-10 is possible as well although I could never see either of these two situations playing out in the NFL
