It means that older people have lived much longer and many have been there or done that. We learn from our experiences, even if it's the hard way. Because we have been around much longer to experience life, it is valuable to listen to one who has experienced much in life and has learned life's lessons. If you are open minded and listen, you can learn much from older and wiser people!
