What shampoo/ conditioner is best for ...?

My hair is of the age when it is thinning... a bit too rapidly if you ask me... I do color my hair about every five months. Right now I use Fructis. It was working well, but as time has progressed it no longer preforms to my satisfaction.

What is a good combo to keep the hair healthy, soft and STILL IN MY HEAD as much as possible?

... I've tried Progain before it is bad news for my hair.

Both my mom and mother in law use Nioxin, and have had good results. Plus my mom takes Biotin 5000 mcg skin/hair/nail support. She had went nearly bald before and now her hair is almost as long as mine.

IMO as a stylist I would opt for The Nioxin line, I have used it myself and love it. It has a shampoo and conditioner for chemically enhanced hair, a lovely smell, and tingle factor for your scalp. Also you could give Amplify by matrix a try, that is a very popular one with the fine haired ladies. Maybe you could talk to your stylist about getting a new style that suits your thinning hair (like a shorter bob, or pixie cut), and add some dimension with a few highlights, or low lights...The highlights give the optical illusion of your hair being thicker. If you are unhappy with the hair products that you try most salons will refund you or exchange for something else. Good luck and I hope I have helped a little bit.

The chemicals in the variuos shampoos might have affected your hair . The body is quite capable of restoring your hair once the toxins are removed . Please use some naturally occuring oils to help the scalp .

I do not know what is your age . When I was around 30 and started to lose hair I tried the japanese made 'KAMINOMOTO' high strength hair oil. It is expensive compared to all the other hair oils . But it will be worth it .

    Good luck.

I've heard Nexxus is good.....both my Grandma and my mom had a problem with thinning. The problem, which you will soon find, is that it is a wee bit pricey and has a tendency to fade your color.
