Why am I dreaming about these things?

It's been a while since I've had any dreams...I figured out that I tend to dream pretty scary things when I sleep on my back (if that makes any sense). But the past few nights, I've been having the most pointless, random dreams. For instance...

-My ponytail holder snapped and I started freaking out. But then I remembered that I always have a spare on my left wrist (VERY accurate because that's exactly where it was). I pulled my hair back up and all was good again.

-My brother (that I've seen once in the past year due to being in the Marines) was about to drink milk and noticed it was expired on the 17th (the same exact date that the last jug of milk expired therefore was AGAIN very accurate). He started panicking. I remembered that we had another jug but for some reason, I couldn't tell him. It's like I was holding myself back.

What could possibly be the point to these dreams?

To me it sounds like you are holding something back it actual life. You couldn't tell your brother about the milk, and the ponytail holder is used to hold your hair back. Is something holding you back or are you holding something back?
