Is the RM50 service tax will be impoesed to debit card too?
I know that credit card and charge card will be imposed with RM50 per card next year. But what about debit card? Will impose that to debit card too? If that is the case, I have a good mind of canceling my debit card.

Nope, debit card will not be affected. people who uses debit card is people who has real money in the bank, but those who are using credit card are people with no money so they are used to stock-up c-cards. bankruptcy of c-card users is the reason of why the RM50/c-card/year is imposed; i.e. people will start keeping only 1 card, hence spending will be limited, hence lesser hutang, hence lesser malaysians gone bankrupt.

No, there shouldn't be anyway. Unlike credit cards, there's no restriction in applying for debit cards. As long as you have a bank account, you can get a debit card whereas for credit card applications there're certain restrictions like minimum salary requirement. So the government reasoning is that credit card holders are those middle & higher income groups who can afford to pay the RM50 service tax.

Nothing was mentioned on debit card so far. It shouldn't be any tax on the card because debit card feature is part of ATM card and unlike credit card, it does not any credit transactions, it merely debit the amount of cash you have in your account to pay to retailers/sellers.
