Why did Obama pick Howard A. Schmidt?
why would obama pick Howard A. Schmidt? is there something i am not finding about this guy? He doesnt seem like anything special, just another mildly knowledgable guy that people like. All i see that he has done is work for ebay and microsoft. But, I can not find a reason why he would be nominated to be the new cyber cordinator over someone who actually deals more in hacking.
Please someone shed some light on this. Security is extremely poor in this country and as time goes by, i see other countries becoming more secure, yet the US becoming less.
Van Jones? That would be trading one unqualified person for another.

You're not going to find many older folks who are skilled at hacking. Teenagers will outpace them any day. Schmidt is probably the most experienced person for this position, the article about his appointment points out that others turned it down. Schmidt also worked in the same position for the former president.
