im an electronics geek.
transistors are pretty much auto on and off switches. i dont know much about them in fact i know least about them then any other component, but from what i know you can use a basic transistor to make LEDs blink or speakers change tones like a siren. i dont know much about advanced ones, but they do all kinds of cool stuff. you can go to wikipedia and search transistor and get lots of info about them. also if you just type in "transistor" in google you can get lots of websites that explain what they are.
