vegans & vegetarians why treat meat eaters as being nasty and narrow minded?

i know that a lot of us meat eaters post some nasty remarks on here but please explain to me as to why you have to use facts that are simply not true such as no primates other than humans eat meat and panda bears do not eat meat yet we have chimpanzees that actively hunt and eat meat and if a panda found the body of an animal it would eat it and as the vast majority of the human population of the world eat meat are we all wrong i do not criticise any one for not eating meat as that is their choice but please stop going on about it is it a problem for you and if so why what people eat sometimes is their choice and some get no choice what so ever it is how people are brought up as some cultures are taught that eating meat is bad such as Buddhists and who am i to say they are wrong as they realise and forgive none Buddhists for eating meat and other religions do not eat certain animals as they are deemed to be unclean such as islam and pigs i do not come on here saying they are wrong as it is a lifestyle that is theirs not mine so come on lighten up i have no reason nor do i want one to try and make anyone eat what they do not want to so ok you are a vegan / vegetarian that's fine and no i am not going to call you names or anything like that enjoy whatever it is that you want to be and i do wish you all a merry christmass and a happy new year and may it be a peace full one

Update:

moxie try to overlook any mistakes with my grama but take a break and look again this is the type of response i am talking about straight away what is it with you can you not come back to me with a decent response why do you have to respond as you have . you see it is not just meat eaters that are just nasty and vindictive

    Many of the vegetarians on yahoo answers;

    - Think that because they don't like something, nobody else should either

    - Are hypocrites that pretend that they do not destroy animals and/or their habitat, when in actuality they do, whether directly or indirectly

    - Are intolerant of opinions that differ from their own

    - Are judgmental and condescending towards people whose opinions differ from their own

They do it simply because they think they are right, and everybody else is wrong.

The mere mention of being a meat eater usually leads to criticism, belittling, and thumbs down from the vegetarians. Many of them regularly report questions from meat eaters; at least one of them openly brags about it, as though she is somehow doing the rest of us a favor.

Like PETA members, they don't seem to realize that their extreme but ill-informed statements only damage their credibility further.

    * and the thumbs down I am getting for exposing the facts speak for themselves

I agree that misinformation is unhelpful, and indeeds saturates the culture of food choices/politics.

A crucial point that is oft not addressed, is the choices we make economically affect each other, If someone chooses high pollution foods (meat, dairy, imports) they choose to make the planet worse for their neighbours, AKA someone sh*tting on my childs future, I think I have a right to object to you harming my child.

However such bubble bursters don't fit in many peoples world view so they ignore it

Sorry but i am really confused at what point you are trying to make! People who don't eat meat have a right to complain about those who do, i don't eat meat because of the way we get it, how would you like to have your throat cut and left to squirm upside down for the next half and hour, and how would you feel if you had to watch that! But then those who do eat meat also have the right to complain at those of us who don't eat meat. That is the whole point of this in one respect to find out peoples opinions and why they do things, are you saying that we shouldn't be honest with what we feel. Anyway it doesn't matter it Christmas and coming up to the end of a another decade. All of you out there have a merry christmas and a peaceful new year. xx

Hey meat eater, why treat all vegans and vegetarians as nasty, narrow minded and incapable of having independant thoughts...... generalise much?!!

I'm sorry, but (cr*ppy grammar notwithstanding) your "question" is just ridiculous. Its just a poorly disguised rant which I found over-generalised, patronising, ignorant and offensive. But hey, we're all entitled to our own opinions ;-)

To answer your "question", I DON'T treat meat eaters and nasty and narrow minded. I personally think that eating the carcasses of other living creatures is cruel, uunnecessaryand disgusting. However, I realise that its just my opinion, and that refusing to eat meat is my choice. I don't expect everyone else to make the same choice, and I will even cook meat for other people because I don't think I have any right to impose my beliefs on them.

    Vive la difference!

    No. I never.

We should understand the following reality..

Meat eating is NOT WRONG IF they are...

    1. Incapable to make their own decision; Domination by parents, Survival, Gender & Age barrier.

    2. Don't know what they are doing; Physical/mental impairment, Addicted, Uneducated, Intoxicated, "dreaming/deluded", or spiritual "dead".

    3. They know, but knowingly suffers; Sloth, ignorance, Pride, Greed, Gluttony, Lust.

Look SONIA, you're an individual. If some of the people on here are critical of meat-eaters, don't take that personal. There are vegetarians and there are meat-eaters and there are accepting people and there are narrow-minded people. It's not just you vs. us. There is vegan propaganda and there is meat-eating propaganda and some of it is true and some of it is not true on both sides. Many of us just think it is wrong to inflict unnecessary cruelty on a sentient being, and everybody has their way of acting on that belief. I hope I helped but if not, well it might help if you use punctuation next time!

Perhaps if you included some punctuation, you could be taken seriously.

Sorry, but I won't "lighten up" about animal cruelty. I can't be apathetic towards animal abuse. Perhaps you can ignore it. I can't.

I don't treat dead animal eaters as nasty and narrow minded. I think that their dead animal habit is disgusting, dangerous, weak minded, and repulsive, but that doesn't mean that's how I feel about the person.

Your logic on all counts is heinously flawed and I just don't have the energy to correct you since it will be like correcting a brick wall.

But just FYI, for Chimps in the wild, meat makes up only 3-5% of their diet. If more humans were these kinds of meat eaters, perhaps some of the more vocal V&V's would have more tolerance.

Because they are, with barely a brain cell between them

vegetarians have to be nasty in order to get around the ridiculous fallacies their diet is based on. that's why they have to post exaggerated reports of how animals are treated in the US, as well as ridiculous dietary myths based on no evidence like "too much protein leaches calcium out of your bones" and "protein kills your kidneys" and "red meat gives you colon cancer" and "saturated fat leads to heart attacks" and "dietary fat makes you fat" and so on.

i notice how many vegetarians bemoan "animal cruelty" because think of the poor animals that suffer! but none of them are too keen on the idea of, say, killing all lions (think of the poor gazelles!) or killing all polar bears (think of the poor seals and fish!). killing is only "cruel" when human beings, who have evolved to perform and live at peak efficiency while eating lots of dead animal, fulfill their biological imperative
