How long does it take to get your receipt when you file a green card petition?
My husband and I filed a I-130 and I-485 form so I can get my green card. I was wondering how long it will take to get the receipt number so we can track our case online? Also how long for my work permit to arrive? At least an approximation? Thanks for any answers.
Does it go faster if my husband is a US citizen?

Well, when I filed 5 years ago, it took them 6 months to send my employment authorization. You should get a receipt # way before that though. I can't tell you exactly as I don't remember. Good luck to you.
