Do you have any suggestions for where it would be easy to be accepted for a credit card. I am 18.?
I will turn 18 on Sunday and I would like a credit card. I work at Penneys and my monthly income is about $600 monthly. Do you have any suggestions for a easy bank company that will accept me for a credit card?

Bad news is that it will be harder for people under 18 to get credit cards with the new law going into affect in February. You must provide proof of sufficient income to qualify for a credit card or have a parent co-sign. I doubt your $600/month income would be considered sufficient.

You work for Penneys.... as in JC Penneys?
Then apply for their store credit card, if your are allowed to.
Other ways to get a credit card and with your financial situation and age:
Save up $500. Give that $500, sitting in your savings account, to your bank as collateral for a secured credit card. (They will hold the $500 in case you mess up...)
Do not think that you got a prepaid card... you got a real credit card with a $500 limit, lots of fees, etc. and one chance to build your credit history.
Use the card once a month for $50 and then pay off completely as soon as you get the bill in the mail. No, don't do online... use the mail and send the payment with a check at least 10 days before due date. (this way you have documentation and show good habits).
After 1 year you should have enough payment history established on your credit report to get this secured card turned into an unsecured card. At this point you will get your $500 collateral back too.
Your bank has the best credit card offers available for you. Be careful with your financial habits:
Don't overdraw checking account and keep a decent amount in your savings account and you will soon be able to get a credit card through your bank after you proved to them you can handle this by being really smart when using your secured credit card.
